Giving To Others Brings Greater Job Engagement

So I was reading this book called Before Happiness. They did a study where they analyzed people and measured their levels of social support giving. The work isolators were a category that gave the least social support to their coworkers in their job. The work altruists gave the most. What did they find?

5% of work isolators were engaged in their job. Work altruists were 10 times more likely to be engaged in their job.

Over half the work altruists got along with their coworkers compared to only 20% for the work isolators.

40% of the work altruists got raises in the past year in comparison to just 10% of the work isolators
